TapouT XT Day Eighty Seven - Plyo XT
Getting home I knew I was going to be in for a long workout. I felt pretty run down all day and I was spent by the time we made it to the house. Sticking to TapouT XT, we put in Plyo XT and we gave it a go. I haven't received a beat down like today in a while. I mean, I made it through the warm-up but a few minutes later I was out of breath and dragging big time. Somehow I managed to get through the groiners but after that it was an uneven match, all in favor of TapouT.
Mandi did a great job. I could tell she wasn't pushing as hard as usual, she's still sick too, but she never gave up. I looked a lot like when we first started the program. Every couple of minutes I had to stop and take a rest. It was like my heart rate was sky high but it wasn't, I was just that bad off. This routine is one of the toughest but if it was a Cardio XT day someone would have needed to hose me off of the mat, assuming I could have stuck it out.
Masochistically, I like the really tough days. The ones that leave me black and blue, crawling away. It's refreshing that something we've been doing for 90 days really has more to offer. Yeah we're sick, but we're in no way masters of Plyo XT. There are a couple DVDs we can hammer the entire routine out but there is usually one or two moves that warrant a higher level of fitness. Today was just a reminder of circumstances. One day we can be on top, and the next the bottom... it's looking to see what tomorrow brings that's invigorating.
Tonight we had some cooking to do and that was about all I had left in me. I've been lusting after the couch so we carved out enough time to get in a show. I'm not a huge TV fan but I do enjoy anytime the two of us are just squeezed together like a pair of birds. That's the best part of each day.
