TapouT XT Day Eighty Three - Cardio XT
The last workout in round 1 of TapouT XT had to be Cardio XT. It's my least favorite and the one that pounds me the most. I say the last workout but we'll be repeating this week to reach a full 90 days but as for the schedule this is the last one. I've joked several times before that I'm usually dying like Monet during this one but for some reason I wasn't today. I was still dying, just not as bad. Mandi and I both gave it everything we had to close out the week strong. She's still feeling bad, and I'm getting worse, so just getting through it was an achievement.
In my opinion Cardio XT is the hardest of the TapouT XT workouts. I'm sure I think this because I'm a cardio lightweight. This routine is like my Goliath but there's no slaying going on, well not from me. Mandi always does a great job with this one but she absolutely loves cardio. We disagree on it's effectiveness, I wonder who's on which side, so we tolerate each other's opinion. Mathematically, I could walk for an hour and burn more fat calories. I know I would burn less calories overall but if loosing fat is my goal then why punish myself like this. This program is so high paced I feel I get plenty of cardio each day. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be complaining again in a week.
As I've said, we have decided to extend TapouT XT to a full 90 days. That made reaching the end of the schedule somewhat anti-climactic. I'm proud of us but we're saving the celebration until next week. It's not like we're going to stop exercising so this is really the end of the beginning, our first step. We feel really great to have gotten this far and we have definitely improved our fitness levels. We believe this is such a good program we will be starting a round 2 in a few weeks. I think I'm still in a little shock from how fast the 12 weeks flew by.
I also feel that we're a little lackluster since we lost Corbin a week ago. Our hearts are still very heavy from his passing. He was such a sweet little boy who didn't want for much. He really would have made an exceptional RV dog since he was so laid back. As long as he had a couch everything was all good. It will take time to get used to not having our little bean around.
