TapouT XT Day Eighty One - Competition Core
Today had me battling Competition Core by myself. Mandi is still sick so she took it easy while I jumped into TapouT XT. This is a great routine and one I look forward to. Today I was a bit tired but that didn't hold me back. I was hammering out everything I could and had some trouble with the squat side burpees. I always do since those are fairly awkward for me, I didn't do bad but they had me winded by the end. The side plank jacks also trip me up a bit, mostly because my balance sucks.
It's surreal that we are nearing the end of the first round of TapouT XT. It seems like we started this just a couple of weeks ago. Mandi mentioned that since she has gotten sick she may want to tack on another week. That would take us to 90 days instead of the 84 on the schedule. With only two workouts left that might be the likely scenario. I'm not sure if we'll pick some routines or just redo this last week. I know she's disappointed and I don't care either way so I'll let her decide.
Today was also my half day at my new job. It's strange to be done by noon and I felt weird leaving that early. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to have that time to get some things done but it will take some getting use to. I ended up spending it cleaning, cooking and paying bills... super exciting. I then picked Mandi up and we went to get our new bikes. We're switching from road bikes to mountain bikes since they are a bit more practical, a bit indeed. I ended up getting a smaller size in a different color then the one I origanilly picked out, go figure. I had planned on using them during our off week between rounds so we'll see when we can start putting some miles on them. I'm hoping Mandi will start feeling better soon.
