TapouT XT Day Seventy Two - Strength & Force Upper
Our only reprieve today was our TapouT XT workout, Strength & Force Upper. This is the last time this one is on the schedule, well for round one, so we both dug deep so we can finish out these last two weeks really strong. This week contains the exact routines week nine did so we know it's going to be a push-up fest. Keeping that in mind we were busting them out today. I pushed myself extra hard which had me failing during the final set of octagon push-ups. If Mike would have asked for one more I think I would have gone to my knees or I would have tasted the mat. Mandi may not like the strength workouts but she sure was pounding out the push-ups.
We decided to trade bands about a quarter into the workout since I'm not a fan of the handles we bought on day two. At about the three quarter point we were switching back because my band is harder than Mandi's. They both have the same rating but we bought them at different times so I guess being different brands makes a difference, something to note. We'll switch handles to see if she likes the ones I have been using. Beside the great band exchange, we both hammered through this workout.
Going into Ultimate Abs we both felt strong and it showed. We busted everything out and did several moves faster than the DVD. When we reached the GFO's we were a little gassed but we kept on pumping them out. I must admit that the magnet crunches were tough for me today so I see why they have become Mandi's least favorite. Sticking it out is a big part of this program or as Mike says "To Quit Does Not Exist".
Our workout was a reprieve because our little dog, Corbin, is not responding well to the medication changes we had to make to combat his Pulmonary Edema. I was able to get him to eat some wet food this morning but he refused to eat it a second time. We gave him some canned chicken, which he did slowly eat, but he will not take his meds. He has been a little tank throughout the last six years so hopefully he's not ready for the final big sleep. He's our last remaining pack of three member so it's especially hard for us when he's sick.
