TapouT XT Day Sixty Two - Cross Core Combat

I got mixed up this week and thought we were supposed to be doing Mauy Thai today. Fortunately I checked the schedule and noticed my error before we worked out. Doing the wrong routine would have been a reprieve but ending the week with Cross Core Combat makes a bunch of sense. It really has been push up week so the finale being the grinder was some sort of crescendo. I must admit, the way these workouts chase each other has a definite art to it.

Our performance was fantastic. We both pounded through most of the routine, slowing a little with the push-ups but relentlessly churning them out. As always, the grinder put the brakes on and we had to pause to crank through it. We both went to our knees to finish it or we would have face planted the mat. Oddly, the tuck-ins were easy, they usually wind us more but today they were a nice break from the push-ups. This is only our fourth time with this routine, three for Mandi since she missed the last time due to a pulled muscle, so we are both stoked with how well we did.

It's funny how the mind categorizes things. Going into the workout I recalled the grinder but my overall impression was that this one is just kinda hard, sort of thinking we started TapouT XT with this one so it can't be that bad. Of course, a few minutes in and I was thinking, none of these are easy and the better we get the tougher they seem to become. What a great workout.

Tonight we decided to mix up our normal routine and do our grocery shopping. We have a couple of commitments this weekend so this would give us a good jump on things. We've also noticed that our local food co-op seems to run low on produce during the weekend so beating all of the Saturday/Sunday shoppers should give us an edge. It's was fun to do our shopping later in the evening when the stores weren't busy. We've been considering moving our shopping to Wednesday nights so maybe we'll make that change in the coming weeks.
