TapouT XT Day Fifty Nine - Plyo XT
We knew today was going to be a tough one since it was a Plyo XT day. We've been really busy so this one would have been easy to skip since we are both tired, nope. In went the DVD and we started what is one of most demanding workouts. We still have a couple spots like the groiners that are just horrendous but we both pounded out the lunge pulses, always leaving the ground. I wish I would have filmed our first workouts so we could see just how much better we are. We know we have improved and I no longer take a bunch of mini breaks like when we first started TapouT XT but without a side by side it's hard to describe fully.
I've mentioned how Plyo XT is loathed by many, as read online, but I'm not sure that it's the hardest. It's in the top, and there are plenty of moves that suck like the 90-90s, but overall it's one that will bring large gains. It's also on the schedule almost every week so we should have significant improvements through out the program. Don't get me wrong, it's a bruiser, it's just the punishment isn't as bad as it once was. We both like Plyo since we get good muscle and calorie burns. If it wasn't kicking our butts a little then it probably wouldn't be working.
Tonight we brought back the Spicy Cashew Chicken for dinner. I say we, but I had to work almost every minute of the day, so Mandi did all of the cooking alone again. Hopefully my schedule will settle down in the next couple of days so I can go back to a normal number of hours per day. What sucks the most is we're losing our time together. Worst case is I'll have to put in a ton of hours for one more week to meet my deliverable. With Mandi having to pick up all of the slack around the house I'll need to think of a special treat as a thank-you.
I went through our blog a few days ago and noticed I never mentioned when the brain fog we were experiencing lifted. It's hard to say but in the week after my last post about it, it just dissipated. Each day it was less until it was gone entirely. Breaking the carbohydrate addiction was hard but we do feel like ourselves again. Everything about getting off of carbs said to stick it out for at least thirty days and that's exactly right. We may start to experiment with dairy, Mandi already has, to see if we have any allergic reactions. I personally don't miss it but Mandi has always loved cheese.
