TapouT XT Day Fifty Seven - Sprawl & Brawl
Normally we go into our Sunday TapouT XT workout full of energy but today we were both tired by the time we got to Sprawl & Brawl. It could have something to do with the time change but more than likely we didn't eat enough since we were both extremely busy. I spent the entire day working and Mandi spent it cooking. The only break we took was to exercise, which happened only when we both could stop what we were doing. Sprawl & Brawl is a tough one even on a good day so we knew we were in for an old school beat down. Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as we thought.
The burpee groiners were the proverbial straw and the winning blow for TapouT. We kept going but that move crushed the both of us. Sprawl & Brawl is one of my favorites so I don't mind it when it smacks me down. In the beginning I wasn't a fan of the number of push ups but they've grown on me. I think this might be the best all around routine in the program, we both get a good burn too.
I feel bad because Mandi had to do all of the cooking without me, so it took almost double the time. This week was especially bad because we were out of almost everything, even the basics, so multiple steps were needed for a lot of this week's meals. She had to start the day making bone broth so we can have soup for lunch, then mayo for the coleslaw, almond butter for the Pad Thai, etc. I worked from the dining room table facing the kitchen so I occasionally caught glimpses of the marathon. She should have worn her HRM all day.
Hopefully things will begin to settle down after this week. I have a bunch of deadlines and Mandi's work is picking up due to a project she's on. No matter what, we'll get in our daily workout because our health and fitness is important. It's too easy to skip a day which leads to missed weeks then months, if not years, before starting again. Honestly, what good is it just killing yourself at work and neglecting yourself at home? Dedicating time each day for improved fitness isn't always easy, but it's what we have to do.
