TapouT XT Day Fifty Four - Yoga XT
Today was our second Yoga XT day this week and we both powered through it. I was concerned a couple of days ago with my good performance being a fluke, that wasn't the case at all. I still wobbled and fell during the side plank leg lifts and the long push-up hold a little over halfway in was a mess but the rest was great. Mandi bounced back from Monday and killed it today.Taking it one day at a time seems to be really paying off!
Yoga XT is probably the easiest routine in the TapouT XT regimen but it has some tough spots. I remember us having to break form during most of the intense sequences when we started. Not anymore. The only time I had to break form today was for some quick shoulder rotations since they were super tight. We both did a bunch of those before the video started so I may need to come up with a pre-yoga stretch routine. Weird, but it really does place a decent amount of stress on my shoulders.
We're creeping up on day 60 which is another milestone and it's hard to tell how our results will be. We know our waists have gotten smaller but we haven't been on a scale in a long time. We know that removing inches is the goal but we've been conditioned, like everyone else, to "watch our weight". We discussed today how we'd both be fine at maintaining our current weights as long as we keep leaning out. It's the physiological factor that's hard to overcome.
It's difficult to fathom that we have only 30 days left in round one of TapouT XT. Our plans with family at the end of this round may get changed so we might stretch it to 90 days. As it stands, we'll target the schedule that came with the program and decide later. We can't do every move to completion in all of the routines so we know a second round will help polish us out. After that, maybe XT2. It's way too early to tell since we are really only approaching the half-way mark but if XT1 gets us to, or even close to, where we want to be then why not take it to the next level. At the least, we would be spending our money in a way that would benefit the people who have motivated us to get off the freaking couch.
Diet wise we have been doing really well. Every now and then we find it difficult to eat between 50 and 60 percent from fat so we'll try and keep a close eye on that. Mandi noticed our lunch this week was limited in fat so we made a dressing from the homemade mayo, coconut milk and herbs. That pumped it up and by putting all of our food in to myfitnesspal we could see what days needed to be adjusted. After moving a couple of dinners around we planned out our week and had our ratios in line. I'm not sure if this suits anyone else but we like to have our meals set per day which helps us remain efficient in the kitchen. Mandi also had lunch out a couple times this week and did a fabulous job at restraining from the convenient temptations, right on!
