TapouT XT Day Forty Five - Muay Thai
Half way! Today is day forty five of TapouT XT, a great accomplishment. I also couldn't be happier since it was a Muay Thai day, our third time doing it. This is one of those you get what you put in it routines. The one legged in-outs are still pretty hard but we both stuck through them with only a couple short breaks. Mandi gave it 100% so hopefully she didn't strain that pulled muscle but she sure did power through like a pro. I have so much fun with this routine and I ended it drenched. There are so many knee strikes I could barely do them by the end.
I don't want to jinx us but I feel we busted this one out, well at least 98 percent. It is an easy one to cheat on which is why I think we push ourselves so much. I also think the core conditioning we've been going through is really paying off. Maybe I'm just elated from making it to day 45 but I'm really feeling stronger. TapouT will probably get harder since we'll be able to push even more so we'll see how the second half goes. I feel like a late bloomer but that's perfectly OK.
We are still fighting the brain fog but I think it may be our bodies detoxing and converting from burning carbs to fat. The best approach may be to try and power through it, or give it a worthy effort. I'll keep researching it a bit but I can become erratic and overthink things so sometimes it's best to slow down. Patience isn't always my strongest virtue, or even present sometimes, so I can't promise that I won't be changing something tomorrow. I did feel pretty good this afternoon but by 8ish I was getting all sleepy again. It didn't interfere with the workout so we have energy, we just don't feel like we do.
Mandi, busted out another great dinner tonight. A Pad Thai that didn't use peanuts or noodles. If you are looking for great Paleo or Primal meals then The Prime Pursuit is a great resource. We've loved everything so far and will be working our way through more recipes in the coming weeks. It's ironic that the food we are enjoying is probably the cause of our brain clouds. I feel the need to stand up and say - "Hello, my name is John and I am a refined carbohydrate addict. It all started..."
