TapouT XT Day Forty Three - Plyo XT
Today marked the start of week 7 of TapouT XT. It was fitting that it was a Plyo XT day. I'm not sure which workout is the hardest but Plyo is definitely in the running. Mandi is not completely recovered but she brought her A game. She has been chomping at the bit to really get back into the program so she only modified when it was apparent that she could exacerbate her pulled muscle. It sucks she missed almost an entire week but I'm sure the rest was good for her body.
Plyo XT has some really tough spots, like the groiners which I can't complain about enough, but it is making our lower bodies much stronger. I'm glad we had a rest day yesterday because we are still run down and that made Plyo even harder. I was able to push through the workout and felt really good during the routine but shortly after we finished it I was tired and groggy again. It may be related to increasing our dark green vegetables so maybe we're going through a round of detoxification. We'll be researching more but it's tough stuff. Mentally and physically we are exhausted, like living in a dense fog. We're still able to accomplish things, but sometimes it takes a lot more concentration than what should be necessary.
Recently we both have been informed of Vitamin D deficiencies so I was thinking the D3 supplement may be the cause, but it's supposed to energize us. If this is what chronic fatigue feels like then I have a new found respect for those who suffer from it. Mandi has said that getting healthy has never felt so bad, I agree. We're assuming that our bodies know what they are doing so staying the course, at least for as long as we can, should bring us to our goals. For me, the tiredness isn't the worst, the cognitive disability is the hardest to cope with.
Fighting through our fatigue, we made Mandarin Orange Chicken for dinner. Almond flour was used for the breading and it ended up tasting fantastic. The recipe could also be made without the breading so we may try that sometime to see if it's as good. The sauce is what makes the dish so having a faster version would be nice for those times we are running late. We spent so much time in the kitchen today the only breaks were for TapouT, an hour and a half nap for Mandi (a documentary for me) and a couple hours before bed. We did also sneak in a shower after the workout but overall we prepared as much as we could for this coming week, well worth it and great fun being together all day.
