TapouT XT Day Thirty Three - Legs & Back
It has been a couple weeks since we have done the TapouT XT Legs & Back routine. Since it's strength oriented it is one of my favorites. We were running a little late getting started but we were in it soon enough. I was a little short on gas so a couple things were tripping me up but we both were hammering out the push-ups. Now, I didn't pump them all out like they do in the video but I did as many as I could each time without having to use my knees.
We finally remembered to have a couple larger resistance bands on hand so we stepped up our rows and a few other moves. We don't have enough handles so we just grabbed the bands where we needed to get the proper resistance, that works really well. We realized that we didn't need our light bands anymore so we may switch the handles off of those (we do need them for the killer move in Ripped Conditioning). We also were having a problem with the width of the additional leg band we bought. Mandi had the genius idea of tying a knot to shorten it and that is awesome.
I was surprised that we didn't just blow through this workout since we have done it so many times. This is a good lesson that if it's becoming easy then kick it up a notch by changing up the resistance bands. We're trying to workout to Mike's credo and make sure we're getting outside of our comfort zone. Under that premise, every routine should have something that whips our butts. It makes sense if you want results, yes please - we do, so guaranteeing we face obstacles will force us to give more. We're not setting up blockages though so incremental progression will keep us in a steady climb.
On the food stuff front we are doing a lot better. We have been trying to stay a couple of days ahead in preparation and planning. It'll be too easy to fall apart if we aren't prepared. We have been lucky with our new recipe selections which has helped tremendously. Standing on the shoulders of giants almost always makes things easier. I'm sure we have a long way to go but our current momentum is boosting our confidence and settling things down. We are also noticing some midsection shrinkage, right on.
