TapouT XT Day Twenty Four - Muay Thai
I was excited to get started with our workout today since it would be our first time performing Muay Thai. TapouT XT has delivered in all of it's workouts to date and today was no exception. This will probably become one of my favorites because I enjoyed it immensely. The only move I struggled with was the one legged in-outs due to my weaker core. I was pushing myself hard and only took the allotted water breaks, no breathers needed. Mandi looked like a trainer as she busted out each move like a machine, a great day for both of us.
I also ordered the TapouT XT gloves today so hopefully the next time we do Muay Thai we'll have them. That should step it up a bit so we'll see if I have a similar performance with them on. I read that they were recommended by week three but I didn't think we would have been ready for them so I put off the purchase, whoops. They should arrive sometime next week so we'll have them for the remaining seven weeks of the program.
We've been both committing to the new diet through the carb flu and our bodies' appeals regarding starvation. It's funny how I've eaten a larger breakfast than I normally would but I have a dull hunger pain. Sorry stomach, no starches, the only carbs are from nuts, vegetables and fruit (maybe a little honey). It's an adjustment period but today all Mandi could talk about was pizza. I'm glad I started this before her or we could have made a disastrous move and had to start all over. Since I'm further along the thought of pizza, one of my former favorite foods, does nothing for me.
Lunches are still our weak area with no progress in sight. I'm thinking almond bread might help in making sandwiches or something. Mandi was going to try chicken in a lettuce wrap but ended up eating them separately. Maybe chicken salad on almond bread? We've been running around each night after working out, cooking etc so we haven't taken the time to brainstorm. We have found a couple websites (Wellness Mama and The Prime Pursuit) that have great recipes so they will be a tremendous help.
