TapouT XT Day Seventeen - Plyo XT

Jan 29, 2013
by Mandi

Today was day seventeen of the TapouT XT 90 day exercise program with Plyo XT. It was one of those "am I taking a step back" days. Plyo was really beating us up. We kept pushing but it took everything we had. I still have to take a couple short breaks to get my heart rate down so this is definitely one of the fitness improving workouts. Sticking through it is paramount so that's what we did. In any program there will be days where it's just tough, today was one of those for us so we dug deep and remained committed.

Mike states that Plyo is one of the hardest workouts, we know. We are modifying the moves less which is probably why it's so much harder. That alone goes to show that the program works. We are in better shape than when we started but we still have quite a ways to go. Jump tucks in particular are a killer for me. I've been focusing on the technique and man do they beat me down. I'm starting to engage my core more through this workout and that makes a huge difference, good and grueling.

We tried a new recipe today, Spring Vegetables with Rice Noodles, and once again was fairly disappointed. We liked the vegetable combination, especially the asparagus, but the brown sauce fell very flat. We'll probably make it again but without the sauce. It's funny how we find recipes that require some sort of sauce then we ultimately decide we'd prefer it simpler. You'd think we'd learn from that, eh? It is fun to try different foods and recipes so we'll keep experimenting.
